Kelowna is home to many renowned wineries. As you walk through and admire the grapes growing on the vines, the scenery around you is stunning, especially with the Volcanic Hills Estate on an extinct volcano! In addition, there are excellent tours in the area that will help you taste wines at the top spots. A unique winery you must see is the Indigenous World Winery, founded by descendants of the Syilx people who lived and took care of the land in the region for thousands of years.
The Kelowna Art Gallery is a great place to visit if you're looking for something to do in the city's cultural district. There's plenty to explore with four different gallery spaces and an outdoor courtyard.
The gallery has a permanent collection of over 800 works of art from local and international artists. If you're interested in finding out more about the art on display, the staff at the art gallery offers art classes and workshops throughout the year.
Knox Mountain Park has several hiking trails leading up to the top. There are also picnic areas and sporting fields to rest while enjoying the view.
The top of the Apex Trail offers fantastic views of Okanagan Lake and one of the scenic views in all of Kelowna.
The best part about this park is that it's connected to Paul's tomb, allowing visitors access to more trails without traveling far.
We just had to include another Lake Okanagan idea, located right on the lake, visitors can enjoy a lovely stroll along with the boardwalk or rent kayaks during their visit. The park offers plenty of benches for people to relax while watching boats and paddleboards go by.
Plenty of food and drink choices are located here, too. In addition, there is a delicious cafe that overlooks the water and offers impressive views during sunset.
One of the more unique things you can do here is getting brief lessons on "flyboarding" before trying to fly on your own with this jetpack-like waterboard!
Big White is a ski resort during the winter and turns into a mountain biking hot spot in the warmer months. This place has it all; there are activities for everyone!
With over 2760 acres of skiable terrain, Big White is the third largest ski resort in British Columbia.
There are also chair lifts and gondolas so you can ride up and down without having to walk if it's too strenuous for you.
If you love skiing or snowboarding, this place is perfect! They offer classes, rentals, and even a ski school for beginners.
It's located around an hour's drive away from Kelowna, but it's secluded enough to really experience the beauty of nature without feeling like you're stuck in a busy city. There are also shuttle services that can get you to and from the resort if you need a ride.
